A collection of newspaper articles, letters, and notices assembled by Christopher Estes. The articles are chiefly from the Anchorage Daily News and Anchorage Times, as well as Homer News, National Observer, Cheechako News, Alaska Advocate, Peninsula Clarion, Seward Phoenix Log, and others. The articles are dated from Sept. 20, 1975 to Feb. 8, 1979; some are lacking dates. The articles mainly cover state and federal policies in regards to sport and commercial fishing in Alaska. Other topics include outdoor recreation; fees, rights, and limits regarding sport fishing and hunting; hatcheries; aquaculture; Native issues; D-2 lands; logging; power resources; and the proposed Susitna Hydroelectric Project.

In 1959, the functions of Alaska Territorial Dept. of Fish and Game, Fish and Game Commission, and Fisheries Experimental Commission were abolished by session law (Chapter 64) and their functions were transferred to the newly created Alaska Dept. of Fish and Game.
